FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, 2001

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, 2000 - 2002, public intervention

Developed in the framework of the exhibition FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY at Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst Aachen in 2001, this public intervention was set out to launch at approx. 500 public toilets in Aachen: in museums, theatres, public institutions, restaurants, pubs, offices, etc. and was continued worldwide. Stickers with the text “For your own safety these facilities are being monitored by CCTV” have been installed at numerous places mainly in Germany and the US to expand the exhibition in the public space. The photographic documentation of the intervention was presented in the Aachen museum exhibition and constantly being updated.
