A virtual drone flight around Cologne's traditional non-profit-art-space. In 2008 the “Kunstraum Fuhrwerkswaage” was the first of 37 REMOTEWORDS-stations worldwide. In 2018 the first artistic Google-Earth-3D-model ever was exhibited there. In 2020 the virtual drone flight was simulated from the 2018 data of this very model.
NEW RELEASED ARTIST MONOGRAPH.An overview of the performative series, which started in 2000. A “poetry of the technical” in art at the interface of device, interface and intermediality.
The proposal “TRAM” transfers virtuality into real urban space. The representation of a typical Zürich streetcar within Google Earth (3D mode) is designed as a sculpture and set up in it’s original size (36 x 3.6 x 2.4 m).
The series redefines the relationship between photography and architecture in urban space with the technology of post-photographic means and allows to experience the “perception of reality” in a new way.
Simulation of a virtual drone flight around Peter Weibels sculpture, based on a three-dimensional model, rendered from Google Earth data by using a photogrammetric process.
The relationship between photography and sculpture dates back to the younger medium`s invention. The series of 3D-Google-earth-models, since fall 2018, redefines this relationship with the help of post-photographic means.
