REMOTEWORDS

Based on the tradition of Land Art, REMOTEWORDS is a long-term artistic and interdisciplinary project, founded in 2007 by Achim Mohné and Uta Kopp.

Established at the crossover of art, literature, design, internet-culture and navigation technology, REMOTEWORDS installs messages on roofs of cooperating partners such as cultural institutions. Applied in the form of permanent, capital letters, each collaboratively developed message represents a semantic unit with its particular hosting location and the environment.

The messages themselves are not directly visible on location but are subjected to the view from outer space via satellite photography. Instead, they are spread worldwide via virtual globes such as Google Earth or Bing Maps.
